4-4-2018 meeting minutes

TOWN OF ARBOR VITAE - General Meeting - April 4, 2018

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Bauers called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. It had been properly posted and the media notified.

ROLL CALL: Present Frank Bauers, Jeff Hunter, Brian Nerdahl, Ryan Johnson and Ashley Roach.  Abbey McEnroe from the Lakeland Times and 1 other person was present.

AGENDA:  Motion by Hunter, second by Roach to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

MINUTES: Motion by Nerdahl, second by Roach to approve the minutes of the March 21st, 2018 meeting as read. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE:  1) The DOT held an informational meeting at the Town of Woodruff in regards to the Hwy 51 project and Nerdahl attended. The reconstruction will go as far as Lemma Creek Rd and will stop for the Memorial Day weekend.  2) Lakeland Sanitary District provided their 2017 report. 3) Duwey Sternberg from the ATV Club reported that there was more flexibility with their signage since the signing of SB442.

DEVIL’S ELBOW RUN DONATION: AV-W is again the Sponsor for the Devil’s Elbow 5K/10K Run in Arbor Vitae and is looking for our continued support. Motion by Johnson, second by Hunter to again donate $500.00.  Unanimously approved.

ANNUAL MEETING AGENDA: Roach would like to see an Ambulance Report to inform the public on the decision made by Fire and Rescue. The Annual Meeting is of the Electors so anything can be discussed.

ATV MAP OF LOCAL ACCESS: Reuland was contacted by David Walz, DNR, reporting that we had been turned in to Madison in regards to our Local Access Only.  In order to have local access it must be considered a route. Our Ordinance should have also been sent to the DNR. Walz would like to sit down with the board to explain the law. In light of this information the map of local access was put on hold. The Board would like to meet with Mr. Walz and Dale Mayo as soon as possible.

CODIFICATION DISCUSSION: At this point the only things that need clarity are the building questions for Rick Clem and the ATV Ordinance. Bauers suggested adding that all inspections are done to the UDC Code. Hopefully Clem will get back to us on our questions. The ATV Ordinance will make changes after our meeting with David Walz from the DNR.

PICK DATE FOR ROAD INSPECTIONS: The board decided to wait to choose a date to take their annual road tour because of the continued winter weather and not knowing when road limits will be lifted.

ADJOURNMENT:  Motion by Nerdahl, second by Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 7:40PM. The next general meeting is Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 prior to the Annual Meeting at 7:00PM.

Mary Reuland, Clerk
